The fishbox is equipped with a Banjo
®
fitting to allow the drain hose to be disconnected from the fishbox
drain. Lift the fishbox up and slide it to the port side of the opening to gain access to the Banjo
®
fitting. Pull
both levers of the Banjo
®
fitting outward to disconnect the hose. The fishbox can now be removed. To
reinstall, push the hose fitting onto the drain adapter and pull both levers down.
The forward compartment and fishbox drain by gravity through a seacock which is accessed through the aft
hatch in the head compartment. The seacock should normally be in the open position and closed only in the
case of an emergency.
The cooler located in front of the console drains by gravity onto the cockpit sole.
The rope locker drains overboard through a drain fitting located in the hull side at the bottom of the rope
locker. It is important to inspect the drain frequently to remove any accumulated debris.
INTERIOR DRAINS
A drain plug in the head compartment sole is provided to drain water that may accumulate on the head floor.
This plug keeps the aft bilge isolated from the head compartment and should be removed only to drain water
from the head sole and be reinstalled when draining is complete.
5.5 Plumbing Systems Maintenance
Information supplied with water system components, by the equipment manufacturers, is included with this
manual. Refer to this information for additional operation and service data.
FRESH WATER SYSTEM
The following items should be done routinely to maintain your fresh water system:
Remove the filter screens from the faucet spouts and eliminate any accumulation of debris. A build-up
of debris can cause the pump to cycle excessively.
The fresh water system is equipped with a strainer located on the intake line near the pump. This should
be checked at least annually and cleaned as necessary.
Periodically remove the lid on the shower sump assembly located under the mid-berth. Clean debris from
the sump and flush with clean water. Activate the float switch to test the pump.
Periodically spray the pumps and metal components with a metal protector.
The batteries must be properly maintained and charged. Operating the pressure pump from a battery with
a low charge could lead to pump failure.
Add a commercially available potable water conditioner to the water tank to keep it fresh.
THE FRESH WATER SYSTEM SWITCH SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE “OFF” POSITION WHEN-
EVER LEAVING THE BOAT UNATTENDED OR WHEN THE FRESH WATER SYSTEM IS NOT
IN USE.
